Crested Butte features Crested Butte Mountain Resort offering breathtaking views and exceptional amenities. These venues often provide on-site accommodations, catering, and event coordination, simplifying the planning process for busy couples.
One standout option is Ten Peaks, who's 360 views make it hard to beat. The ceremony spot overlooks a glorious valley and to top it off, a stunning view of Gothic Mountain. It is by far one of my favorite venues in Crested Butte. The venue is available June-September and can accommodate up to 180 guests. Ten Peaks has the option for in house catering. You can pick their venue package that includes a white tent, tables and chairs creating the ideal reception setting and intimate ceremony spot.
Another resort option is the Elevation Hotel & Spa, located at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Couples can exchange vows at the "Mountain View Terrace," boasting panoramic vistas of the surrounding peaks. The hotel's catering team ensures a delightful menu that accommodates various dietary preferences, from gourmet meals to rustic comfort food. Imagine celebrating your love with a custom menu featuring local ingredients, or mingling on a terrace surrounded by the beauty of Mt Crested Butte as your backdrop.
Crested Butte Mountain Resorts also offers the Mountaineer Square venue which is involves stunning views from the base of the resort.
However, If you are to choose a wedding at the base of the mountain, I would advice to have it at West Wall Lodge. This venue offers a backdrop that includes a more private ski lift and has a much more intimate style with it being less likely to deal with the crowds of the resort itself.
Another gem on the mountain is Uley's Cabin, known for its rustic elegance. The venue features a beautifully designed cabin that incorporates wooden beams and original Crested Butte vibes showcasing stunning views. For those seeking outdoor options, the surrounding settings allow couples to embrace the natural beauty of the region. With capacity for intimate gatherings with it's hangout deck that spans out onto the side of a ski run that you have access to via the Red Lady lift.
Outskirts of Crested Butte
The Mountain Wedding Garden is an ideal location for a couple who want to be at Mt. Crested Butte but have the freedom to make it their own. With its beautiful wooden pavilion, you have the freedom to get married outside while still having the reassurance that if weather is to swoop in, you will be covered. With its affordable pricing and quick proximity to stunning views, many find the Mountain Wedding Garden to be their ideal choice.
The Club at Crested Butte includes luxury features including indoor fireplaces and outdoor terraces overlooking the stunning private golf course here in Crested Butte. Talk about a private location with stunning views at a walking distance, The Club is ideal for your top notch, luxury wedding topped with all the best amenities and features that you could imagine for your wedding day.
Crested Butte Land Trust is a great place to look for renting locations in the beautiful protected Crested Butte lands. The Woods Walk is one of the Land Trust's wonderful private locations found just a short walk from a nice parking lot. Woods walk provides a ceremony space overlooking the butte while being surrounded by a majestic aspen grove. Peanut Lake is another beautiful location right outside of town, creating easy access for elderly family members while still giving you the ideal views that Crested Butte has to offer.
In the heart of downtown Gothic, a town of deserted mining town that now only has a handful of people who live there year around lies the Rocky Mountain Biological Labs. A magical and intimate setting for those who's ideal wedding would feel more like an elopement.
Town Ranch Event Area and Rainbow Park Pavilion are wonderful locations to reserve and provide nothing but fields in the way of your view of the butte. If you are looking for a relaxed, pot luck feel to your wedding or want the freedom to make your wedding however you have dreamed, these may be great options for you.
Downtown Crested Butte Venues
The Center for the Arts located at the heart of Crested Butte is a wonderful theatre styled wedding reception venue. It also includes a patio location for your wedding with quick access to a catered bar and statement staircase right inside huge glass doors. One of my favorite points of the Center is their private deck that overlooks the alpenglow butte in the evenings.
Eleven Experiences owns a few wedding venues in Crested Butte. A few of the downtown venues include Eleven Scarp Ridge Lodge and the Sopris House. If you are looking for luxury suits that have a hot tub overlooking our quant downtown Crested Butte, check out the Scarp Ridge Lodge. If you are wanting a backyard wedding feel, the Sopris house might be right up your alley.
Intimate Farm and Barn Venues
Couples looking for a rustic and intimate setting will find several charming farms and barns in Crested Butte, each offering a unique twist on traditional venues.
A hidden gem is the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum. It combines indoor and outdoor spaces that tell the story of the area’s rich mining history. The garden and courtyard are ideal for ceremonies, surrounded by stunning mountain views, while the indoor space can host small receptions of about 40 guests, creating a cozy atmosphere for couples and their loved ones.
Another wonderful western styled location is the Waunita Hot Springs. Waunita is an ideal mom and pop feel of a venue. The owners are wonderful people and truly want you to just have the best possible experience. Not only do you have an amazing hot springs pool to enjoy before and after the wedding, but they have a reception dance hall located upstairs in their old aesthetic barn. They only allow a few weddings per year, so reserve your spot as soon as you possible.
Lastly, IBar Ranch has a more luxury feel for a western wedding venue. With it's large capacity of hosting up to 500 vehicles, IBar is the ideal location for those who have a large guest count.
On the River
Talk about incredible service, Harmels on the Taylor truly feels like a local's wedding venue. If you have wanted to get married at a location that can host all of your loved ones in adorable cabins, with access to private water fly fishing, you have found your ideal location. They have trail horseback riding across the road and wonderful hiking and rock climbing routes located within a mile of the resort.
Almont Resort is an up and coming venue, located right on the fork of the East and Taylor River. It is located in between Gunnison and Crested Butte. The resort has adorable bridges, a ceremony spot that overlooks a quaint pond. The venue includes a large white tent with hanging lights that provides the ideal reception spot for the ultimate dance party.
Three Rivers Resort is another wonderful, family oriented location that includes adorable cabins, a restaurant, fly shop and walking access to the Taylor river. It has become home for many to enjoy generational vacations and family reunions.
Eleven Experience Taylor River Lodge is a luxury wedding venue hidden from the public's eye in it's own oasis off the road on the Taylor River.
If you have a DIY attitude and are looking for an intimate forest wedding with quick access to the river Campfire Ranch on the Taylor, Lodgepole Campground, Lottis Creek Campground, or renting the pavilion at the City Mountain Park is a perfect spot for you.
Natural Wonders for Outdoor Weddings
But then remember, one of Crested Butte’s biggest draws is its stunning natural beauty. For couples dreaming of eloping with outdoor ceremonies surrounded by lush landscapes and impressive mountain views, there are various incredible options.

Schofield Pass is an adventurous choice for couples seeking dramatic scenery. Here, you can find vibrant wildflower fields during summer. Although reaching this location requires high clearance 4x4 vehicles or hiking, the breathtaking views make it worthwhile. Couples should plan ahead, check the weather, and secure necessary permits to ensure a smooth celebration.
Emerald Lake is one of my favorite locations for my eloping couples. There is truly nothing like it. The pictures say it all. I would suggest a 4x4 vehicle because of the deep pot holes that are often found on the road. There is one spot on the road that only has space for one vehicle to pass, and it makes it feels like a "drop off." So if you are not into that type of thrill, this location may not be for you.
If you prefer a more accessible outdoor venue without sacrificing scenic beauty, Lower Loop Trailhead area leads you by Peanut Lake, all the way out to Gunsight bridge and back and is an excellent alternative. The surrounding mountains and lush meadows create a stunning background for your vows. Couples can say “I do” wherever fits them best along the trail amidst nature's beauty.
