Eloping in Crested Butte, Colorado

Crested Butte, Colorado, is a hidden gem nestled in the Rocky Mountains. It is celebrated for its stunning landscapes, wildflowers and charming small-town vibe. Couples who want to escape the traditional wedding scene and escape to the Colorado mountains often find themselves drawn to this picturesque location for elopements. Crested Butte offers a perfect backdrop for the ideal intimate and whimsical elopement ceremony.

When Ranferi + Brisa reached out to me to capture their day, I was ecstatic. These two had such a fun vision for their day, and I couldn't have been more excited to make their dreams come true. We started out with a consultation call and came up with these goals:

  1. Wildflowers

  2. Alpine Lake

  3. Jump in the Lake at the end.

After they decided to book with me, we talked through their final timeline, goals, and vision in order to create their ideal elopement day. During that time, we ran through multiple possible scenarios on what their day could look like and landed on this plan that created the magic shown below...

Creating Memories by Eloping in Crested Butte, Colorado

Your elopement is not just about the ceremony, it's about making memories, and what better way to make memories but to jump in a crisp alpine lake after committing to the love of your life!? I encourage my clients to think out of the box and do something a little crazy to make the most of their day. These two did just that! Plan activities to enjoy together after the vows. There are extensive hiking trails to explore, maybe we hike or go for a celebratory mountain bike ride. Maybe we ski down the mountain in the wedding attire. Maybe we just add a sweet little coffee date before you get all dressed up. Whatever it is.. make it memorable and extras special!

Pro Tip: Make Time For Sunset Photos

End your day with a sunset stroll, soaking in the majestic views. I always encourage my clients to make time for sunset photos because of what I call mountain hour. Mountain hour is when the top of the mountains glow, creating the most whimsical colors. The average sunset time ranges from 7 PM to 8 PM depending on the season, giving you ample time to reflect on your day’s adventures. Creating memories together is at the heart of eloping, so embrace the spontaneity and joy of this unique experience. Make your elopement experience unforgettable by choosing a destination like Crested Butte that captures the full essence of adventurer's love.
